Why dryer vent cleaning matters
Dryers are one of our biggest everyday conveniences. But every load sends tiny lint fibers past the filter and into the vent line, where they build up over time. Keeping that vent clear isn't just maintenance. It's an important safety step for your household.
1. It helps prevent fires
Lint is highly flammable. The leading cause of home clothes dryer fires is failure to clean built-up lint and dust. When the vent is restricted, the dryer overheats, and that's how dangerous fires start. Regular cleaning removes this hidden hazard.
2. It lowers energy bills and saves time
A clogged vent can't push out hot, damp air, so clothes take longer to dry, often two or three cycles for one load. That wastes energy and your time. A clean vent gives you full airflow and faster drying.
3. It helps your dryer last longer
A clogged vent makes your dryer work twice as hard. That strain wears out parts like the heating element, motor and thermostat early. A simple vent cleaning can save you from costly repairs or replacing the machine.
4. It helps prevent mold and carbon monoxide problems
If moisture can't escape, it can condense inside walls and ductwork, where mold and mildew grow. With a gas dryer, a blocked vent can also let odorless, deadly carbon monoxide back up into your living space instead of venting outside.

How often should you schedule it?
Fire safety experts recommend cleaning your dryer vent at least once a year. Busy households, homes with pets, and homes with long vent runs to the roof (common in Houston two-story homes and townhomes) often need it more often.

What Houston families say
We work hard to earn every review. Read them on Google, and if we've worked on your home, we'd love to hear how we did.
Our dryer was taking two full cycles. They pulled a huge amount of lint out of the roof vent and showed us the photos. Clothes dry in one cycle again.
Very respectful in our home. Careful with the floors and patient explaining everything. The kids loved watching the big vacuum.
They found a bird nest blocking our dryer vent. Fast, friendly and a fair price. We'll be booking every year.
Dryer Vent Cleaning FAQ
Do you clean dryer vents that go through the roof?
Yes. Roof vents are a big part of what we do. Lint often packs in tight at the roof cap, so we clean from both the inside and the roof and photograph the cap before and after.
How long does a dryer vent cleaning take?
Usually about an hour. Long runs, roof vents or heavy blockages like bird nests can take a bit longer.
How often should I clean my dryer vent?
At least once a year. If you run the dryer daily, have pets, or your vent runs a long way to the roof, every 6 to 9 months is a good idea.
I have a gas dryer. Is a clogged vent more dangerous?
It can be. Besides the fire risk, a blocked vent on a gas dryer can let carbon monoxide back up into your home. Keep a working CO alarm and keep the vent clear.
Can I just clean it myself?
You should clean the lint screen every load. But the vent line itself, especially a long run or a roof vent, is hard to reach without the right brushes and vacuum. That's where we come in.
